TFCN - Environmentally Friendly Large Format Printing. What you need to know!
We're constantly striving to offer you the best large format printing has to offer.  This includes new and exciting environmental innovations. We're not greenwashing....we have a genuine belief that we can improve our environmental footprint and help our clients do the same.  How are we able to change the face of large format printing to an environmentally friendly one?  There are many aspects of fabric printing that are advantageous over traditional vinyl.

- Fabrics, you can easily fold and reuse.  They have a greater durability and shelf life to that of vinyl which will eventually crack, kink or peel

- You can use new environmentally friendly fabric substrates instead of oil  based vinyl substrates. TFCN offers a new line of environmentally friendly print substrates include PolyEco:

  -  Unlike most recycled fabric options which are a slightly yellow tone, PolyEco  provides a bright white opacity. This provides optimal image quality and "POP".  Just because you choose green doesn't mean sacrificing image quality.

-PolyEco is made from 100% post-consumer recycled pop bottles.

-PolyEco is the highest quality 100% recycled fabric available on the market  today.

 - Ability to be used in trade show displays, banner stands, custom exhibits, retail  interiors, etc.

  -    Reasonably priced alternative to tradtional polyester fabrics or vinyl substrates.

Fabrics are substantially lighter than vinyl banners.  As much as 30 to 60% lighter dependent on the type of fabric that your choose.  You can save not only cost on shipping weight but reduce your overall carbon footprint due to the reduced weight.

Fabric printing is not only used for indoor either.  There are many outdoor options availiable including lightweight fence wrap, outdoor waterproof fabric banner and of course traditional flags and vertical banners.  Realistically large format digital fabric printing is ideal for all the same applications as vinyl banners and signs, with the added benefit of environmental and monitary savings due to reduced weight, environmentally friendly fabric options, reuse and longevity.

TFCN's next post will be regarding your ability to re-purpose fabric prints to form a graphic program that will never hit the landfill.

TFCN helps Bell Ice Cube achieve gold status

(October 2010) Back in early 2010, TFCN, a Look Group Company caught even more Olympic fever with there contribution to the Bell Ice Cube exhibit in downtown Vancouver. The Bell Ice Cube was created to feature televised Olympic entertainment (past & present), provide product demo’s and even host a daily live show, showcasing current Olympic athletes during the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. TFCN worked with Firework Marketing Group, the main designers/builders for this exhibit to create the brilliant back-lit wall application.

“This project truly showcased the powerful and stunning image quality that our Luminous™ back-lit fabric creates and we were delighted that we had the pleasure to take part in this project alongside with Fireworks Marketing Group” Says Scott Anderson, President and COO of TFCN. “For this application, the Luminous™ was back-lit with an LED lighting system that enhanced the vibrancy of the colours and images. Uniquely it has the ability to work with florescent lighting and even natural ambient sunlight to bring images to life as well.”

Although the Luminous™ back-lit fabric has increasingly become utilized within LED backlit systems for tradeshows and displays, the printed fabric also creates stunning, visual images, virtually anywhere there is natural light. Applications such as window blinds, window displays and sky-lights, virtually anywhere there is natural ambient sunlight to back-light the image”.

This month, Event Design Magazine awarded Fireworks Marketing Group, gold winner within the Best Consumer Event/Exhibit/Environment category for their success with the Bell Ice Cube. TFCN is thrilled to have been a part of this project. Congratulations!!!

The Story of PolyStretch (How TFCN Uses Stretch Fabric)

At TFCN we have had tremendous success with our PolyWovin HD fabric (non-stretch) for applications such as scroll banners (retractable banner stands), trade show booths, media backdrops (pop up fabric displays), indoor hanging banners and outdoor wall treatments. For PolyWovin HD however, measurements must be precise to achieve the desired fit; taut with the frame.

With PolyWovin it is essential to assemble the frame product to ensure that the specific as-built dimensions of the hardware will properly fit the printed fabric solution. In selected cases, our clients are unable to provide hardware or specific measurements, and as a result we are not able to assure a quality fit.

When these two factors are not met (hardware or precise measurements), TFCN added another fabric to its lineup that provides stretch capabilities that does not distort image quality, PolyStretch HD. This fabric effectively combats our client’s challenges and offers a greater degree of elasticity.  Fabric panels can be finished slightly smaller than the frame dimension and yet easily stretch into place.  After great success with a first generation stretch material, TFCN has introduced its next generation stretch fabric, providing our clients with an even greater brilliance, vibrancy and stretch.  Regardless of whether we have been provided hardware or exact measurements, TFCN is able to provide a fabric panel with confidence knowing that upon installation it will be a successful fit.

Ideally, TFCN prefers to work with hardware on-site in an effort to assure our clients with the best quality print possible, however for those instances we are not assured exact measurements or hardware, we are now in a position to offer our clients a solution.
